Teaching assistant in a comprehensive secondary school in Oxfordshire. A highly enjoyable and challenging position in which I built confidence in developing strong and trusting working relationships with different students in order to best support their learning. I worked in a collaborative team of support staff to share ideas and develop methods for helping different individuals.

This internship required empathy and resilience as I supported ATPS in its goal of preventing suicide by helping people to recognise and support those at risk, break down stigma, and raise awareness. I received vital training in suicide prevention skills and developed my awareness of mental health illnesses and confidence in supporting people thinking about suicide. I also developed my ability to work with large data sets by evaluating feedback collected from ATPS events and producing summaries and reports with the goal of improving future services.Finally, I enhanced my technical skills through using platforms such as AirTable and SmartSurvey, as well as providing support at online events such as Zoom conferences.

Master’s focusing on the challenges faced by organisations and governments as they respond to global security and development needs, including considering the developing threat of environmental disaster.Experience in producing texts for a range of audiences, such as policy briefs, op eds, and briefing papers.Developed an understanding of international relations theories in foreign policy, for example the impacts of morality, elite relations, and misperceptions on developing foreign policy. Completed a 15,000 word dissertation studying the development of survivor identities in post-genocide societies. Used coding and narrative analysis to analyse how Cambodian and Rwandan diaspora communities engage with informal justice and reconciliation processes in their communities, for which I received a high distinction with 76%.

Research Assistant on the UNRWA in Focus project led by Professor Mick Dumper at the University of Exeter. Working alongside my Master's studies to produce four concise, evaluative briefing papers on topics surrounding the role of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, designed to be easily digestible for non-specialist and expert audiences alike. Alongside writing my own papers I took an editorial role, leading in the design and proof-reading of the papers produced by other research assistants on the project and constructing the project website.

Supported researchers at the University of Exeter and the University of Konstanz in their research project analysing the impact of the Prevent Duty on the work of UK University lecturers. I carried out and transcribed individual interviews with lecturers from social science departments across the UK, gaining confidence in a difficult and valuable primary research skill.

Activity Leader at a summer holiday camp delivering sport, art and play activities for children aged 7-15. Level Three Paediatric First Aider on camp during my second season. This role required excellent time and behaviour management skills and the ability to solve problems and adapt activities independently, in order to deliver an exciting and varied programme without constant oversight from the camp manager.

President of the University of Exeter Badminton Club during the 2017-18 academic year. Responsibilities included managing the committee, overseeing club finances alongside the treasurer, administering memberships, liaising regularly with the Athletic Union and planning and implementing projects such as coaching courses for society members.
