Isle Of Tiree

Following on from my previous role as a windsurfing instructor with Wild Diamond, I became the manager for the water sports centre. This role contains a large amount of responsibility as I am in charge of the day to day running of the centre dealing with the bookings over 6 sports, running of lessons, the daily man management of our instructors and welcoming the clients as they arrive for their lessons. Although our centre is fairly small in the height of the summer we can easily be providing lessons for around 70-80 individuals daily, in which I will interact with each and every one of them. This role has provided me with a huge amount of satisfaction, but not only that, it has allowed me to develop many managerial skills such as man management, timekeeping, organisation and motivation.

Through my time as a customer team member (CTM) i gained valuable skills in terms of working within a large team in a retail environment. I had already gained previous experience dealing with the public but my time with The Co-op helped to fully enhance those skills.

Isle Of Tiree

My passion for waterspouts grew through many holidays to the Isle of Tiree, this love of being active outdoors helped me to gain a role over the summer of 2011 as a assistant windsurfing instructor. Although this only lasted a few weeks i was soon invited back for a longer spell over the following summer. The following year i was given more formalised training and went on to be a fully fledged windsurfing instruct to a range of clients who were on the island for a holiday. The training continued until i was at the level of achieving my RYA qualification for windsurfing instruction and eventually becoming head instructor and later centre manager.
