My name is Jack Wingrove and I am a highly skilled teaching professional specialising in A Level Chemistry. In 2019 I left the University of Lincoln with my MChem qualification having completed my masters year by conducting a research project into the in-house development of novel ambient mass spectrometry techniques as a means of in-vitro analysis of sweat samples for quick and reliable bioinformatic data. Following my graduation I endeavoured into the world of industrial chemistry specialising in the field of analytical sciences. I served as an analytical chemist at both a multinational polymer distribution company as well as a large scale petrochemical manufacturing group. In 2021 I left industry to take on a new and exciting role at an FE college where I progressed to become the sole teacher on a dual campus A Level Chemistry course, taking direct responsibility for the curriculum and delivery of Chemistry content to approximately 60, 16-18 year old learners each academic year. I have spent the past 2 years developing my skillset as an educator and becoming more and more enamoured with the role. I derive great satisfaction from the naturally rewarding nature of the job, being able to make tangible differences and impacts on young peoples lives and share my passion of Chemistry to inspire the next generation of scientists. I also welcome the often challenging nature of the job. Being someone who detests being inactive, the constant changing landscape of the job and encountering fresh obstacles and challenges each day is an environment in which I thrive.At USP college I have become an embedded and well known member of the faculty, taking leadership over the organisation of departmental social and team building events, mentoring new members of staff, participating and running extra curricular activities with learners as well as becoming known as someone that can be consistently relied upon to be both professional and discreet.
