In this role, I assumed the position of Chassis Team Lead, responsible for managing a group of individuals tasked with working on both the chassis and suspension components.My primary responsibility was to analyze the previous year’s design to identify areas for improvement. To ensure the project’s timely completion, I effectively utilized my leadership skills, employing management techniques such as GANTT charts, RACI charts, and regular weekly team meetings to keep everyone informed and aligned.To gain a comprehensive understanding of the chassis, we conducted test days at an airfield. Driving the car allowed us to identify areas that required adjustments in the cockpit, while the gathered data provided valuable insights into the chassis’s performance and reactions.The chassis design was meticulously crafted to meet high standards, building upon the improvements made in previous years. Notably, it was lighter and stiffer than its predecessors. The Structural Equivalency Spreadsheet (SES) I created received the highest grade ever achieved by UCLan, an A+.Overall, this experience was incredibly enriching, offering diverse opportunities for growth and learning.
