The first decade of my career was pure storytelling - feature length films, sitcoms, and entertaining books - where I hold 11 awards and 23 nominations. This past decade I've been leading teams catalysing change through my Indigenous take on story and design. I've leveraged it to facilitate organizational transformations, create commercial innovations, turn stories into products, and empower sustainability with scalability. And whether it’s leading teams in redesigning healthcare delivery in Saudi Arabia, launching the legacy of the Dubai World Expo, empowering narrative transformation in a global energy giant, or architecting smoother mergers of multi-national telecoms — the intersection of where storytelling meets strategic design is authoring a more hopeful future. I still write books, but I’ve also taught the concepts behind my work and applied research at The New School in NYC and Parsons School of Design in Paris. Now, at GHD, I’m infusing storytelling culture at a company making water, energy, and communities sustainable future for generations to come. Is there a better story to tell? I’m not sure there is.
