About Jack Baker

At the beginning of my career, after completing my Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Business, I had the opportunity to join a fast-paced, small R&D aerospace company. The projects ranged from flight campaigns to designing the aircraft of the future for large aerospace players. This experience opened my eyes to the broad world of engineering and everything that comes with it. It also showed that I was missing key elements in my education to pursue the work that interested me the most. With that in mind, I moved to a new country with a new language to pursue a specialized higher education. I joined the Mobile Autonomous Robotics Systems masters program in Grenoble, France. This opportunity allowed me to add the software skills needed and knowledge base of how they intertwine with mechanical engineering to understand what makes our world move in the 21st century. It provided me the opportunity to work in my current role as a part of the Battery Electric Vehicle Innovation team at Stellantis Motors in a software developer role. I am now at the point in my career where I want to find a company that will be a long-term partner. This company will help me grow and learn in a fast-paced environment while contributing to projects that bring meaning and change. I want to bring my excitement and enthusiasm for my engineering work to a team that shares the same eagerness.

  • Quaternion Aerospace
    Design Engineer (Eit)
    Quaternion Aerospace Sep 2019 - Aug 2023
    Victoria, British Columbia, Canada
Apart of a small team developing world-class leading UAV test vehicles for aerospace clients interested in new aircraft design and propulsion. Due to being a small team, over the years, my tasks included mechanical design, electrical routing design, manufacturing, testing, assembly, and component testing. I was fully integrated into many different aspects of the engineering project lifecycle and also participated in the field test team after becoming a licensed advanced drone operator with NAVCAN.
  • Airbus Helicopters
    Production Engineer
    Airbus Helicopters Jan 2019 - Apr 2019
    Donauwörth, Bavaria, Germany
This international internship introduced me to First-Principles Thinking regarding recurring problems along the assembly line and the importance of detail and documentation. By developing databases and test reports, I increased the efficiency of the assembly reports and information distribution throughout the team.
  • Canadian Natural Resources Limited (Cnrl)
    Field Engineer
Canadian Natural Resources Limited (Cnrl) May 2018 - Aug 2018
    Red Earth Creek, Alberta, Canada
