Thanks, Jaimie Krause, PhD" and "I am pleased to write this personal letter of recommendation for Mr. Jack Corcoran. I have known Jack since July 2014 when he began serving as a Unit Leader for the AmeriCorps’ National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) at the Southwest Campus in Denver, Colorado. AmeriCorps NCCC is a residential, team-based, national service program for young adults ages 18-24. The Southwest Region is the base of operations for 320 young adults who serve on 28 different teams, deployed across the southwestern United States to help address community identified needs such as disaster response and recovery, youth development, infrastructure improvement and the promotion of health, fitness and well-being. Teams are then formed into Units, a designation of 7 individual teams, run by a Unit Leader. This is the position Jack filled for us. In that capacity, Jack was responsible for assisting and guiding our teams to be able to work together effectively, to deliver on project goals established by organizations requesting NCCC assistance and to hold member of his Unit accountable for the standards and professional expectations of AmeriCorps NCCC. He hired Team Leaders to run our teams and then provided training of trainers to our Team Leaders so they can apply the skills and techniques learned from him in the field. He himself traveled frequently to be able to work with teams in their place of work to overcome obstacles, remain mission focused and help ensure high quality delivery on the service projects we have been requested to fulfill. During the time I have worked with him, he has been highly successful in delivering on all of these tasks and has differentiated himself as one of our colleagues most capable of striking the appropriate balance between advocating for his teams, while holding them accountable for performance and policy compliance. It is a skill that separates him from his peers and has also earned him the recognition and admiration for those in his Unit. Jack has been recognized by NCCC members as our Most Inspirational Staff Member in part for that reason, as well as for his calm, centered ability to respond to challenges and advise teams on strategies to succeed. Jack is an effective communicator who works well in team settings, as well as individually with our Members and his colleagues. He works well with minimal supervision, while at the same time being open to feedback and thoughtful in incorporating new approaches and ideas into his work. He is passionate about community development, youth development, leadership development and service. I believe he is an excellent candidate for any such professional pursuit and was disappointed to lose him from our Denver based team as a result of operational downsizing. I recommend him fully. He will bring perspective, energy and dedication to your organization. I would be pleased to discuss any aspects of his NCCC employment in Denver in greater detail at your convenience."

Listed skills include Leadership, Community Outreach, Public Speaking, Microsoft Office, and 40 others.
