My role at the AEMC is to act as an internal consultant advising and supporting teams throughout the organisation.My deep domain expertise in the energy sector and data science background enable me to translate complex policy questions into answers using data and code. It also makes me more effective when overseeing staff on analytics projects.Day-to-day tasks include engaging with senior policy teams to understand business problems, writing software to process billions of rows of data, and developing market models (from scratch in Python/Julia or in Plexos) and building data science capability in the organisation.

My role at the firm was to provide partners and teams with expert advice to solve any data and analytics challenges that they encountered on projects.I led the analytics workstreams on over a dozen projects, interfacing with the team, partner, and client.During my time at PJP I gained extensive experience in multiple industries including energy, government, aged care, travel, property, education, retail, etc.

I was one of the 20 young Australians selected by Startup Catalyst to receive a full scholarship on their Future Founders Mission to Silicon Valley. Over two weeks we had the opportunity to meet with senior people at multiple tech companies including Google, Facebook, Twitter, Atlassian, etc.

Developed and tested new software that uses machine learning and computer vision to automate workflows in honeybee research. This new methodology required me to write software to work with massive datasets, and to become an expert in a variety of analytics techniques including image analysis, network analysis, database programming, and machine learning.

As a certified Software Carpentry trainer, I organised and ran multiple workshops each year teaching scientists how to program.

My research documented the genetic and morphological diversity of a parasitic mite representing a significant threat to the honeybee industry. I also developed a workflow for analysing data from the Human Microbiome Project and developed an interactive visualisation program.

Undertook an upgrade of a university's journalism website, converting their video player from Flash to HTML5 and transferred the website across to a new server. I also converted university course content into HTML/CSS mark-up.Developed JavaScript web applications including interactive store location maps and water pump measurement conversion tools.
