Head of Research, Grants and Academic Engagement at The National Archives in London.The National Archives is the guardian of over 1,000 years of history, as well as being a UKRI Independent Research Organisation and the sector leadership body for archives in England. Our Research, Grants and Academic Engagement Department leads The National Archives' research, grant fundraising, research engagement, and our provision of funding to the wider archives sector.We deliver an outstanding programme of strategic and practice-driven research projects; connect with our wider research ecosystem through partnerships, events, outreach and academic training; fundraise for research, capital projects, public engagement and digitisation; and provide an array of grant funding opportunities for archives across the UK, on behalf of the Government and charity sector partners.I lead a diverse team of collections experts, digital researchers, computer scientists, engagement and impact practitioners, research managers and grant funding specialists, tasked with delivering The National Archives' Research Vision and supporting Archives Unlocked, the Government's vision for the archives sector.I am a research and research management professional, with a wide experience of learning and knowledge institutions. I arrived at The National Archives via the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and the University of Cambridge.
