Progressing to a senior position in the team has allowed me to take a more active role in the management of the team including recruitment and coordination of projects. I have also taken on additional responsibilities as a Key Account Manager for an important customer.

A hands-on role involving working directly with many of the world's leading automotive companies. This role has allowed me to gain expertise in robotics, electronics, and project management. Key responsibilities include:• Track testing and development of new hardware and software for ADAS and vehicle dynamics• Travelling internationally to train customers in the use of AB Dynamics equipment• Providing in-depth technical support

Working on the development of the second generation of Ariel Nomad all-terrain sports car. Work here included:• A wide variety of engineering challenges including optimising suspension systems for off-road, on-road, and racetrack scenarios.• Early concept design and refinement of the chassis to improve torsional rigidity, safety, and weight while conforming to ECE Vehicle Type Approval regulations. • Collaboration with suppliers and consultants to refine designs.

Throughout the 2016/17 academic year I was a core member of the UWE Formula Student team and took on many responsibilities. The most significant of these was my role as the leader of the aerodynamics team in which I not only designed and manufactured aerodynamic components but also led a team ranging from Master's students to first years. From the start I was keen to engage with new students, to help them develop themselves and become effective team members. Through this I greatly developed my leadership skills and learnt a great deal about team dynamics. Formula student is an incredible breeding ground of innovation for engineering students. Within this competitive environment I have not only further developed skills taught at university such as CAD, CFD and FEA but I have also gained a host of vital practical skills involving metal work and composites. By having responsibility of both manufacture and design of components, an inherent appreciation was learnt of the connection between the two. While designing anything for the car my mantra has always been "design for manufacture" to ensure that designs are realistic for the manufacturing processes which we have access to. I feel that my involvement with Formula Student has helped to make me much more innovative and creative when it comes to tackling problem solving, while also keeping me more grounded and practical.

My time at this company was a 12-month industrial placement in which I became involved with many different projects and procedures at one the top 10 tyre manufacturers in the world. I was primarily working as a part of the European Technical Centre Team and largely through my own interests I became involved several different departments of the company such as:• Design – using diverse array of materials and structures to create competitive and effective products with applications ranging from heavy duty off-road trucks to agile sports cars• Static testing – operating test rigs to determine the dynamic properties of tyres• Road testing – careful collection and analysis of data to investigate designs• Chemical testing – use of precision machinery to gain information on cutting-edge materials• Manufacturing – problem solving and incorporating new systems to streamline production• Sales/marketing – analysing data in order to optimise profits In this role I experienced many different aspects of large scale engineering and as a result I have gained a great appreciation for the processes which drive such companies.
