Years ago, when I had just graduated from UCSC with a CS degree, I had began my journey into the job market. A journey has a from and to; an odyssey, on the other hand, offers no such luxuries that come with definitive certainty. After some time, it became evidently clear that to find your own purpose and fulfillment in life you must carve your own path. The winds will blow whichever direction irregardless of which port you desire to reach.Not every step will be towards where you want to go, but every step will move you towards somewhere else than where you were before. A different step, in any which way, is always an opportunity for growth and reflection. Perspective is a sail that requires no wind. You just require ambition.So, I’ve continued along chasing my passions rather than some favorable wind. I’m thankful that I’ve been able to meet many new wonderful people in my life, to experience different environments, and to take an active role in turning my dreams into a reality. I continue to learn and challenge myself, and I only will fail when I fear to take a step.I continue to desire to break into my field’s vast amount of opportunities, and I strive everyday to focus on my goals to help myself to do so. I took the most important thing that I had learned while studying in university, the concept of how to learn effectively, and I continued to work towards getting to where I wish to be. In our industrialized society, practically every industry and service utilizes some type of computer or automation. So, that really just sounds like anywhere I find myself at, I can always apply the skills I’ve learned and apply myself to tackle any challenges I face to work towards a better reality.
