Motivated Data Engineer with experience in building and deploying end-to-end data pipelines. Passionate about acquiring, transforming, and analysing data to solve complex problems. Eager to develop my skills and expertise within an ambitious and exciting team.I began programming during my degree where I was using Python libraries such pandas and matplotlib to perform data analysis and visualisation. I soon found I loved the process of translating a problem into code and the problem solving involved with debugging a piece of code. An example project I worked on was in my third year where I simulated the expansion of an atomic system by implementing a split-step algorithm in Python. Having modelled the time evolution, I produced heat map visualisations in matplotlib which were then used for further analysis.Joining Sigma Labs as a trainee consultant, I worked on industry-standard case studies involving ETL, data analysis, cloud engineering and data visualisation. Predominantly, I developed several ETL pipelines ingesting data from various sources and preparing it to be used in analysis solutions. For example, I designed and implemented real-time ETL data pipeline for a stationary exercise bike company processing data of users and their rides. Real-time user event data was consumed using Apache Kafka while Python and SQL were used for efficient transformation and storage of data and AWS was leveraged for deployment. I assumed the role of project manager where I delegated tasks, managed Git version control, communicated effectively with the client, and applied agile methodologies to complete the tasks.Additionally, I undertook training with Libra careers for working within a startup. Modules included employability, communication, commercial acumen, and marketing.Primarily interested in data engineering, data analysis, and cloud engineering.As for my personal interests, I love reading (my Kindle is my prized possession), playing guitar, and collecting vinyl records. Also an avid lover of sport, particularly football (I'm a die hard Aston Villa fan), formula 1, and MMA.
