Parliament House, Canberra

Worked from the Canberra office in Parliament House and assisted Mr Zimmerman in all his parliamentary duties including speechwriting, policy, media engagement and his roles on committees. I developed a deep understanding on how the Parliament, the public service and the Ministry operate in the creation of policy and passing legislation. - Policy Development – Worked with Government agencies, departmental officials and parliamentarians on key policy issues during Trent’s role on various committees. - Speechwriting – Wrote speeches for Trent Zimmerman, learning how to replicate Trent’s speech and policy platform, how to tailor the speech for his audience and deliver a captivating narrative.- Stakeholder Engagement – Engaged with North Sydney constituents, businesses and NGOs to identify key electorate and policy issues.- Social Media Management – Managed the social media page for the office, devising strategies to increase media engagement.
