Currently working in the Service Assurance team as a Risk and Governance Analyst for the Global Storage team at Barclays Bank. My responsibilities include risk management for ITPA controls such as; user recertification, logging/monitoring (SPLUNK), shared account management (CyberArk) and JML (Joiner, Mover, Leaver) process for the team. I am also the Business Continuity Coordinator for my local team. I am also a part of ensuring that data quality is correct in the team.

The third year of my sandwich degree course I was able to spend working within the university ITS (Information Technology Services) Department. Here I was able to take skills which I had gained at university and adapt them into a real working scenario; skills such as: teamwork, patience, accuracy, keeping calm under pressure and working to a time scale. Here I gained much experience of how an IT infrastructure works within such a large network. I worked as part of a team within the IT department of LJMU and was given several tasks and projects throughout the year to complete ( IIS7 and vCentre – vSphere were the main focus). I mostly worked alongside systems engineers who gave me a great insight into their jobs and responsibilities within their network. During my placement I also gained experience and confidence in the following programmes: Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Sharepoint, vCenter - vSphere, IIS7 (Internet Information Services), Hyper-V, Microsoft Expression Blend 3&4, Remote Desktop Connections, SCOM (System Center Operations Manager), HP SIM (Systems Insight Manager) and Microsoft Expression Encoder. Here I spent 6 weeks full time in the IT department of Bibby Distribution, where I learned a great deal within a short time period, in my first experience of office life.
