See 'Projects' for more detail.In collaboration with Dr. Hongtao Shi, we created a process for The Keck Microanalysis Laboratory that would benefit our University's students of the future. Dr. Shi and I hypothesized and executed an experiment where we coated thin films of carbon onto a range of surfaces. We then examined them using a Scanning Electron Microscope to observe the elimination of the charging effect, the surface quality, and the optical properties. This process can be applied to geological, biological, and ecological samples.
