Working within a small team to plan and deliver short term amendments to the passenger service, usually to allow engineering works to be undertaken or to accommodate special events. Position also included the development of rolling stock and train crew diagrams to accommodate amended services, requiring maximum operational efficiency, whilst again complying with the rules of the internally agreed compendium.

Fourteen month placement with the Service Development section of the Train Planning team at First Capital Connect, as part of a four year 'sandwich' degree course. Undertook a wide range of tasks, with both regular duties and project based functions, developing improved public rail services in the future.

Contributed to a range of projects whilst being employed part-time during my second year of University. Assisted senior consultants in developing accurate computer models, gaining experience of the strategic planning processes involved in developing large rail infrastructure projects and the modelling processes used to evaluate the costs and benefits of such schemes.
