Management of a global, multi-disciplinary team covering Costing and Operational Proposal Support.

Monitoring business unit financial and operational trends, preparation of profit center and support unit budgets. Monitors North American Toxicology work flow and revenue production schedules in order to maximize the efficiency of the workflow, examine financial performance in detail and investigate opportunities for profit enhancement.

Work very closely with the North American Toxicology Leadership Team, Finance, the Toxicology 6-Sigma group, the commercial side of the business and with many external clients with whom Covance have formed or are in the process of forming strategic partnerships. Also work with her European counterparts to leverage process improvement opportunities.

Maintained, updated and analyzed on a monthly basis several business environment indicator reports. Prepared error free documents that met tight turnaround times demanded by our internal clients. Performed supervisory duties for the proposal coordination/protocol development group, scheduled work, prepares training plans, and executes goals in department. Served as the principal liaison between Toxicology and Client Services/Business. Development at Business meetings (as appropriate). Kept track of room/animal availability, and made sure Client required timelines were met. Assisted with interpretation and analysis of financial reports.

This included initial development of draft protocols, protocol outlines or other related information to assist in the costing process for standard inquiries. She assisted study directors with proposal development and management for specific types of generic inquiries. She initiated costing requests for proposals and protocols.

scheduled in-life (initiation, termination, clinical pathology, etc.) and post-life (histology, pathology) phases of studies. Created and/or edited study data collection modules on the Path Tox System (PTS) data collection system. Assigned PTS users and assisted with problems and/or questions. Tracked new inquiries, assigned proposal numbers, designated proposal managers, updated and entered proposal information into the database and updated the proposal-related information field in the database.

Responsible for independently carrying out phases of a toxicology study. Performed detailed animal observations and more advanced dosing techniques. Collected blood and urine samples and performed proper documentation. Collected and performed quality checks on PTS and hand generated forms independently. Performed majority of duties independently with minimal supervision.

Responsible for the collection and documentation of pertinent data including animal observations, test material administration and clinical sample collections. Ensuring that studies complied with appropriate SOPs, the GLPs, and regulatory agency guidelines was an essential part of her job. This included monitoring animal health, humane restraint and euthanasia of laboratory animals, and collection of biological samples. Also responsible for helping to maintain facilities for compliance with AAALAC International. Other related duties included preparing study books, reviewing data, and monitoring animal room environmental conditions.
