As a Nurse in Brazil I had to deal with complex life situations in a country where the majority of the population that uses its National Health System suffers the consequences of the country's unfortunate but real, abysmal social inequalities.After my graduation I went on to work as an Advanced Practitioner/Practice Nurse in a small, isolated community two hours away from my hometown and I am proud to say I was quickly rewarded with the chance to coordinate the Health Centre I worked in.I was very sad to say farewell to my patients but it was time to grow professionally and I arrived in London in 2010. Whilst acquiring my NMC registration as an Adult Nurse, I worked in a renowned nursing home / NHS Rehab ward in Tenby,After that I have progressed fast, and was promoted to Sister of the EMI/Dementia Unit at Park House Court Nursing Home.In my role as a Staff nurse for a busy acute medical ward in Withybush General hospital I have learned more about acute care and have updated and varied my skills.After gaining a good understanding of the Health System I was again offered an opportunity to rejoin the primary health care sector by working as a practice nurse at Winch Lane Surgery in Haverfordwest. A role that I welcomed due to my previous experiences. I relish the opportunity of now being offered the chance by my current employers to start the MSc in Advanced Practice in Healthcare.Now I am proud to be an advanced Nurse practitioner in Primary care since 2019 managing patients autonomously on urgent same day consultations and routine chronic disease management , with a special interest in asthma and COPD. I manage patients that attend with any complaints from minor illnesses to complex co-morbidities from diagnosis to treatment.
