Passionate sales leader, player, and coach with a track record of attracting, hiring, and retaining top talent that has produced exceptionally consistent results. Leveraging a data-driven approach, I build and foster performance-based sales cultures that have resulted in overachieving annual team goals over twenty times during my career. As a result of my career experiences, I have developed a broad portfolio of knowledge in technologies (networking, virtualization, ML/AI, cloud, storage, IoT, and security) that span across both the private and public sectors. I consider my strengths to include Strategic Selling, Sales Management, Public Speaking, and Sales Development. I joined Cisco when it was < $500M sales company and left when it was $10B. I joined Network Appliance (NetApp) when it was a<$500M sales company and left when it was $4B. I joined Nimble Storage when it was <$100M sales company and three years later we were acquired as a $400M sales company. Results matter and I can proudly look back on my career knowing I have been a part of some amazing growth companies and their success. As a team-first leader, I have been fortunate to coach and mentor many sales people and system engineers that have worked incredibly hard to ensure their clients experienced successful outcomes. I am proud that my coaching tree has produced numerous VP's of Sales as well as a few VP's for Sales Engineering. Seeing others achieve their dreams is what gets me up in the morning. To that end, I was on the ground floor of building out the Cisco Networking Academy program in1996 that now annually trains over 100,000+ students on networking skills worldwide. My own son participated in the Cisco program and now works in IT at PwC.

Regional Sales Director - Southeast EnterpriseNutanix Nov 2020 - Mar 2023San Jose, California, Us -
Sales DirectorHewlett Packard Enterprise Jun 2017 - Oct 2020Houston, Texas, UsOver a three year period, which began with the acquisition of Nimble Storage, I recruited, hired, and coached a team of storage specialists across the southeastern US supporting the commercial and SLED businesses at HPE. From territory analysis to final execution, I designed and built a Go-To-Market strategy that resulted in over $75M in storage revenue and over 100 New Logo accounts. As a channel-first organization, the key element was inspiring a channel ecosystem that understood the leverage HPE could provide as an end-to-end solutions provider, rewarding their behavior, and creating sales plays that advanced their opportunities for success. -
Regional Sales DirectorNimble Storage Apr 2014 - Jun 2017Nimble Storage represented a revolutionary approach to data management that enabled clients to deliver outstanding performance for business applications with the least amount of disk capacity in the industry. I was responsible for recruiting, hiring, and leading a team of hunter sales reps to penetrate into new markets across the southeast. We drove an average of 40 new logo's per quarter. When I joined Nimble, the southeast Nimble team had never made their sales target. Within one year we climbed to become the #1 sales district at Nimble and I was recognized as sales leader of the year. in our 3rd year, we came in second in a photo finish. And then HPE acquired Nimble.......

District Sales ManagerNetapp Apr 2002 - Apr 2014San Jose, California, UsOver the 12+ years I spent at NetApp, I performed roles including Channel Development Manager, Commercial District Sales Manager as well as Enterprise Sales Director. My geographic responsibilities changed depending on the role but suffice it to say I cover Minnesota to Missouri and all state in between. The Minnesota team was recognized by now retired Vice Chairman Tom Mendoza as one of only two districts that met his standards over a decade of time for excellence in everything we did. We had an amazing team of people and we built an incredible culture. Very proud of what we accomplished. -
Business Development DirectorCalence Aug 2001 - May 2002Chandler, Arizona, UsJoined Calence, an infrastructure VAR based in Tempe, AZ, to develop the Mineapolis-St. Paul market. Calence, a 110 person company, was deeply grounded in a services-based model. Their heritage was IT consulting and managed services. Calence provided an outstanding career experience during a very difficult economic period following 9/11 and the dot com bust. Business in Minnesota was healthy when NetApp came knocking on my door and I decided to join NetApp based on my knowledge of their leadership and trajectory in the storage market. -
Area Sales ManagerRedback Networks Sep 2000 - Apr 2001UsLeft Cisco to pursue what appeared to be a high flying internet company driving optical networking innovation and broadband connectivity for Digital Subscriber Lines or DSL. Primarily sold to independent telco's building out broadband inrastructures to support voice, video, and data apps. After six months, the market crashed and telco was the first casualty. Redback eventually survived bankruptcy but I left when it was clear the future was in question. -
Account ExecutiveCisco Systems Inc. May 1994 - Aug 2000San Jose, Ca, UsJoined Cisco as first vetically aligned sales rep for Miidwest covering all of the public sector across Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Was directly involved in driving the pilot program for Cisco Networking Academy in Minnesota which has since resulted in a global program attended by literally thousands of students. Final two years at Cisco involved taking on a competitve winback role in key enterprise targeted accounts. Left in August 2000 at the peak of the boom to pursue an opportunity at Redback Networks. Timing's everything! Six months later, the telco market crashed. -
Regional Sales ManagerAt&T Paradyne Aug 1989 - Apr 1994Moved to Minnesota in August 1989 as the Regional Sales Manager for the upper midwest after spoending three years with Paradyne in New Orleans as an Account Executive. Paradyne was acquired by AT&T in March 1989. Had siginficant success over five years but Paradyne viewed packet technology with disdain and alowed the innovators like Cisco to pass them by. As a result, I left AT&T Paradyne and joined Cisco in May 1994.
