Combat Engineer/ Plant Fitter/ High Assurance Searcher/ Bomb Disposal team member/ Troop Store man. A key member of a search and bomb disposal troop responsible for UK and overseas operations and deployments. I am also trained as a Fitter. Being a Royal Engineer I also have other skills and trades which include camp construction, bridge building, water supply, mine clearance and demolitions as well as providing hardened shelter and vital infrastructure to combat troops in a challenging environment on various deployments and exercises. Further experience and skills are listed below:• Used my trade as Plant fitter to maintain, service and repair a fleet of plant equipment. Used technical drawings and hydraulic schematics to carry out specific repairs. (JCB 4CX, Caterpillar D5, Volvo EW210D, Terex TA3). • Adapted and learnt to assist various other trades on site when manpower was stretched in order to complete objectives within time constraints.• Trained as a high assurance searcher in a search team and bomb disposal team member and deployed to search for explosive devices and other items of ordanance, I have also taught and mentored other troops in Search and Bomb Disposal.• Trained in Hazardous Environment Search. Has carried out various training exercises searching and extracting casualties from hazardous confined spaces wearing breathing apparatus.• Trained and deployed as part of a team on Operation Tapestry, working closely with the Police and Fire Service this comprised of being on call with one hour notice to move, ready to set up a mitigation system to harness the effects of a chemical, biological or nuclear attack.• Troop Store man - Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and accountability of over £5million worth of specialist Army equipment• Supervised engineering operations i.e. bridge building, ensuring they were delivered safely and to programme.
