CurrentThe TIO is a national NFP public company, providing an independent alternative dispute resolution scheme for small business and residential consumers in Australia with unresolved complaints about their telephone or internet services.I work in a small finance team in what is considered a large business.• Produced and coordinated monthly reports and processing including banking, payroll, WorkCover and balance sheet reconciliations.• Managed accrual coordination such as payroll, taxes and creditors.• Prepared statutory accounts for the annual report.• Monitored and maintained approved changes to the GL chart of accounts.• Coordinated the activities of the Finance Clerk.• Maintained files and calculations for the TIO’s BAS statements and other tax reporting, including payroll and FBT returns.• Oversaw the payroll function including processing, salary packaging and tax documentation.• Managed petty cash and accounting matters for leases on properties and assets.• Coordinated the finance-related communication and liaison with the TIO’s bank and telecommunications provider.• Developed a new paperless process for Accounts Payable.• Contributed to the rollout of major software changes such as SAP Business One and Sage Meridian Micropay.• Changed the billing cycle from quarterly member invoices to monthly for all 1600 members. This improved cashflow, simplified billing and removed the need to forward-estimate.• Received an Ombudsman award for enhancing the TIO’s capacity to work effectively and efficiently with all stakeholders.
