I worked as a broadcast journalist and newsreader for Free Radio covering the wider West Midlands region.As part of my role, I went out and gather audio and video for use in our hourly news bulletins and also to upload to our social media channels. One moment I could be filing a report from a crime scene in Worcestershire whilst the next I could be interviewing a local sports team about their next game in Coventry. Most importantly, it was about speaking to the right people about the right stories for our audience.Uploading content to our social channels was also a great way to improve engagement with listeners and ensure content reached new people every day.I also spent time collating and reading bulletins across all our Free Radio stations and supporting whoever is on desk by responding to breaking news quickly, accurately and responsibly.

I worked as a broadcast journalist at Celador Radio in Southampton, creating and reading news bulletins from the South Coast news hub for Sam FM, The Breeze and Fire Radio.Part of my role involved my going out to and researching news stories across the South Coast from Swanage in Dorset all the way to Chichester in West Sussex as well as up to Winchester in Hampshire. I gathered news for my South Coast patch but also read bulletins across the whole of Hampshire as well as parts of Dorset, Berkshire, Surrey and West Sussex.I am experienced at using Burli for collating, constructing and dispatching news bulletins.I also created news content for our respective websites with Aiir and used it to publish tweets and posts directing listeners to the news pages of our websites.

I worked as a presenter at CSRfm and was awarded an SRA Silver award in 2017 for 'Best Specialist Programming' for my work on Rock on CSRfm.At CSRfm, I presented and produced the specialist rock programming alongside my colleagues Giacomo Palmieri and Karl Goodwin.I also regularly represented the station through conducting interviews at concerts and festivals and by uploading reviews for the website. Bands have included high profile acts such as The Dillinger Escape Plan, Thy Art is Murder, Bury Tomorrow, Arcane Roots and Dinosaur Pile-Up as well as smaller independent acts such as Armchair Committee, Youth Man and Puppy.In terms of radio production, I personally created all of the promotional and production material for the show including beds, on-air imaging and interviewing content. I did the majority of this on Adobe Audition.I also spent some time on the CSRfm committee and helped with the online presence of the station. I am also qualified to train people how to use the CSR studio and equipment.

I interned at Heart Radio in Whistable for a couple of months during my summer break.The majority of work was with the news team where I researched, developed and wrote stories for broadcast. I had to communicate with a large number of outside sources, such as Kent Police, in order to get news and audio content for broadcast. I also interviewed members of the public personally to find out their opinions on a diverse range of issues.I also edited audio for the station through Radio Monitor and took part in an array of audio production-based activities for the station.
