I worked with Western’s ACM chapter on their team of mentors for upcoming computer science majors. I created and led workshops on Vim, Bash, and debugging practices. I helped by answering questions, explaining concepts, and teaching with the use of scratch paper or a whiteboard. Volunteering with this group has taught me how to better explain myself when it comes to computer science topics, and how to help others with their own understanding.

As part of a nationally recognized program to encourage kids to learn about robotics and programming, I supervised teams of 4th through 8th graders in assembling, programming, testing, and running robots made from Legos. Each course covers a specific topic of information, such as Food Transportation and Safety. I also assisted the students with their associated topical research projects.
