In this role I worked on two high profile, large scale disputes projects.The first was a voluntary remediation project for a UK bank in relation to SME customers. The project investigated complaints regarding the terms and conditions of bank lending, complex lending structures, relationship management issues, insolvency processes, property sales and pricing issues. Responsibilities included:• Attending decision making meetings with senior stakeholders at the client.• Analysing complex banking arrangements and reviewing the variety of lending instruments.• Reviewing and assessing large volumes of evidence including bank correspondence, internal records and facility agreements.• Formulating an opinion on the outcome of a complaint based on the evidence I reviewed and presenting this opinion to the bank.• Using Ringtail eDiscovery Software. • Drafting a detailed report of the bank’s decisions for the complainant.• Liaising with a range of stakeholders within the project.• Managing my own case load and working to tight deadlines.The second was a project defending Payment Protection Insurance mis-sale and unfair commission (Plevin) claims that had been filed against a major European bank.
