Working in this position has allowed me to further my skills as a painter while gaining an inside peak into running a small business. Through effective communication and teamwork, we consistently provide clients with a professional experience. Working alongside the owner I have developed strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to quickly change priorities to ensure projects are completed on time, and to the standard our clients require.

Working in a growing business allowed me to gain knowledge in business processes, sales, supply chain issues, and personnel management. Duties included overseeing the operation of canning machinery, maintaining equipment, meeting production quotas, and troubleshooting when needed. Work took place in a team setting, and required effective teamwork to be successful.

Working as a painter requires you to be on your feet for long periods of time, very detail-oriented, work overtime when necessary, develop new skills, have a good work ethic, plan transportation to multiple job sites, and be a safe responsible worker. Daily duties included painting, masking, sanding, and prepping a variety of surfaces to be coated.

Employment at the city consisted of maintaining city roads, following strict safety guidelines, the need to be a self-starter, keeping your workspace clean/organized, working in inclement weather, and frequently moving heavy objects. Daily duties included maintaining street signs, trimming foliage in the right of way, cleaning graffiti, installing new traffic management systems, using software to keep a record of daily tasks, communicating with the public, maintaining city vehicles, and organizing the warehouse.

Being employed at the University of Oregon required you to be a versatile individual who was capable of filling a variety of roles. Among which would be managing volunteers, managing fellow coworkers, keeping track of product levels during events, distributing product to stands, stocking stands in off-hours, and possessing the ability to work alone or in a team. Daily duties consisted of working concerts, sporting events, catering events, set up & take down, stocking, assisting cooks, cleaning, and keeping a record of inventory levels.
