The Hanover Soccer Club is a volunteer organization that provides a soccer program for children of 3 years old up to adult teams. There are 72 teams in the club and a total of 800 players and 100 coaches. I have been part of the Board for almost a year and we have made some great improvements to the programs and the organization of the club. We with a proposal to the local council asking for bathroom and changing room facilities to be built at our soccer park, which has also lead to the subject of our future indoor complex to be put up for discussion with the City Council. Attending monthly board meetings, discussing upcoming tasks and programs. Problem solving and brainstorming for improvements to the program. Listening to club members feedback and using it to improve club and programs. Help to plan for future of club, creating a business plan for the organization and proposals to City Council. Organize referee clinics before the season, including advertising clinics, booking facilities and recruiting referees from youth to adult. Schedule referees for each game from U10 to U18 games for the local soccer league, managing 8 referees and dealing with any schedule problems or rescheduled games. Develop and promote our programs to the community through radio, online and email database. Organizing Coaching Clinics through the Manitoba Soccer Association, including renting facilities, registering coaches, advertising to potential coaches and billing our community soccer league for reimbursement. Fundraisers including social evenings, soccer tournament, golf tournament and advertising signs; We sent out donation proposals to businesses, auctioned off donations, organized raffles etc.
