As a roadmaster I am assigned a specific territory, and responsible for the maintenance and repairs of all tracks within the roadway. My duties include performing inspections and managing the quality of the railroad tracks on the territory. As a roadmaster I keep up to date with all regulations for railroad maintenance as well as the standards set by the individual railroad companies. Responsible for managing the trains that enter each territory. No train may go through a specific track line without approval of that line’s roadmaster. As such, I have tremendous responsibility for managing the safety and efficiency of the railroad system
