Assumes responsibility for the adequacy of the Company’s control environment which includes leading activities to ensure the framework is designed appropriately, is operating effectively and any gaps are remediated timely. Interacts heavily with all levels of the organization, including Management, Operations and Internal Audit. Understands and oversees the proper documentation of all key business processes impacting financial reporting and the related risks and controls. Assists with maintaining COSO Framework Structure, including annual documentation refresh and design evaluation. Proactively communicates and collaborates with field operations to ensure consistency of controls and best practices for accounting operations. Partners with Internal Audit in supporting the design, documentation and reporting of effective internal controls over financial reporting within the entire organization.

Plan, coordinate, and execute the annual Sarbanes Oxley 404 (SOX 404) process. Ensure our process is current on all SEC, COSO, PCAOB and other governing organizations most updated guidance. Complete full scoping of financial accounts. Work closely with internal and external audit groups to create specific plans around walkthroughs, internal control testing, remediation, etc. Coordinate timing of all documentation updates, design effectiveness sign-off, and testing of key internal controls. Manage the documentation changes/updates within SOX respository tool. Work closely with process owners in order to meet compliance requirements. Coordinate an annual SOX training effort for key process and/or control owners. Prepare and present audit committee materials. Management of key corporate accounts, including (pensions, FAS 123R stock-based compensation, and other miscellaneous deferred compensation), as well as on-demand special projects.Key accomplishments in this role include:- Project participant in the successful implementation of the Workiva Tool- Co-created SOX training template (as the content expert) with Corpedia for used in system catalog- Participated in project to adopt the 2013 COSO Methodology and implement into our control environment- Owned the updating and testing of the COSO control framework- Implemented a risk-based approach to the annual account scoping process- Team participant in the SAP Role Redesign project and GRC implementation- Implemented a self assessment process in lower risk areas which resulted in lower audit fees
