As an Engineering Supervisor my responsibilities include supporting the professional development of my staff and helping them to achieve their career goals. At Mead & Hunt I work on water resource projects for flood control, water conveyance and distribution. Mead & Hunt primarily works with public entities providing multidisciplinary skills for planning, design, architecture, and engineering. My responsibilities include civil design, technical lead, project management, cost estimating, and construction support. I work in Civil 3D to create grading plans, alignments, corridors, pipeline networks, and design drawings for water resource projects. I have experience in pump station design, canals, and general civil and site design. I am a resource for and mentor to entry staff within my division. I lead projects in both a technical and project management capacity. I participate in project planning and scoping, track design and construction progress, and manage project budget. MidPacific Region - Division of Design and ConstructionMy duties include providing design services, participation in feasibility and value engineering studies, as well as, drafting, reviewing, and creating cost estimates, drawings, and technical reports.Since starting work with this office, I have had the opportunity to do a 3 month detail in Denver, Colorado out of the Technical Services Center (TSC) and participate in the Bureau's Aspiring Leaders Program. While I was detailing at the TSC I gained invaluable experience in water conveyance engineering and cost estimating. I learned some basic techniques using Revit software and advanced my experience with Autodesk Civil 3D. In October 2015, I graduated from the Bureau's Aspiring Leaders Program. In this program I had training on "Leadership Management Skills for non-Management", participated in a team building group project developing a SWOT analysis and corresponding report on the Central Valley Improvement Act (CVPIA) Refuge Water supply Program (RWSP). During this program I interviewed and shadowed several individuals from differing agencies and a wide range of management positions.
