While in this role I taught Grade 6 & 8 IB MYP Individuals & Societies and Grades 6-8 IB MYP Design. Ideveloped and taught units of inquiry using the BC curriculum and IB Middle Years framework andcreated new Design units with a focus on Indigenous culture and sustainable design.I facilitated service learning projects for Grades 6-8 and contributed to the development of a new service learning continuum. Service projects included building and maintaining 7 vermicomposting systems, organizing monthly litter pick ups, and various student led projects with community focus.

in this role, I facilitated professional learning communities and coached teachers on best practices, modeling effective design and implementation of teaching to a learning target.I contributing to the development of a three year professional development plan for faculty.I designed and taught units of inquiry using the BC Curriculum in the subjects of Humanities, Applied Design Skills and Technology, and Sustainability in an all girls environment.I delivered Humanities units of inquiry in Grade 6 that allowed students to develop core competencies in Language Arts and Social Studies, and provide opportunities for student action and learning of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. I helped to empower Grade 8 girls through the development of trade skills and design thinking through Woodworking Modules in Applied Design Skills and Technology classes. I fostered the growth of student changemakers through Sustainability courses that took an experiential approach to learning and focused on systems thinking and environmental stewardship.

In this role I collaborate with all departments to design curriculum, programmes, policies and whole-school practices within the environmental, social and economical spheres of sustainability. I am responsible for organizing and maintaining the school's urban farming operation as well as teaching various subject focused lessons in the outdoor garden across grades. I oversee the collection, synthesis, and dissemination of data on energy use, waste and recycling, and other performance indicators for the campus. Within the school I work with teachers and students to increase student involvement in the development and maintenance of school sustainability programmes and initiatives.
