I am a Sydney based piano teacher, located in Beverly Hills. I have twenty years of experience teaching Piano at all levels, Music Theory and Musicianship. In 009, I was awarded the AMEB Shield for having achieved the highest student results in the State of NSW in examinations held by the Australian Music Examination Board.I am passionate about sharing my approach to pianism with others. The main focus of my teaching is on developing a thorough understanding of the relationship between the actions of the muscles and joints of the body and tone production at the piano. I very much enjoy devising practice strategies to help pianists to overcome technical hurdles. I firmly believe that all technical problems can be fixed with patience, desire, and expansion of one's 'technical toolkit'! To this end, I have written a series of technical work books titled Scales - the Purrfect Practice. These books are highly effective learning resources. They appeal to students on a musltisensory level, facilitating the learning of scales, whilst simultaneously actively developing technique and listening skills. I have also created a youtube channel with view of spreading deeper understanding of piano technique.
