Facilitate the zealous representation of enemy belligerents (held in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba) accused of war crimes against the United States pursuant to the Military Commissions Act of 2009. Supervise and manage more than 215 personnel in a joint organization including military, civilian, and contracted lawyers, paralegals, investigators, analysts, security officers, linguists, IT professionals, and administrative staff assigned to the Military Commissions Defense Organization. Defend the Rule of Law in the largest and most complex criminal cases in U.S. history.

Lead the United States Army Trial Defense Service (TDS) in providing defense legal services to Soldiers at courts-martial or with pending adverse actions. Supervise over 500 active, United States Army Reserves, and National Guard judge advocates and paralegals, including Legal Operations Detachment Commanders, Regional Defense Counsel, Senior Defense Counsel, and Trial Defense Counsel in over 100 offices worldwide. Provide advice, professional guidance, training, and administrative support to all TDS personnel. Ensure professional training and development of defense counsel and paralegals. Liaison with the Office of the Judge Advocate General, Staff Judge Advocates, and Commanders concerning TDS operations. Advise Judge Advocate General on defense legal services and all matters concerning the TDS mission.

Principal legal advisor to the Commanding General, US Army Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCoE), and his staff and subordinate commanders. Provides legal support to TRADOC's largest and most diverse installation that is home to TRADOC, FORSCOM, USASOC, and MEDDAC units, covering 182,000 acres and supporting approximately 120,000 Soldiers, DA Civilians, Family members, and retirees. Leads, manages, and supervises the efforts of a 70+member legal team that provides service and support in the areas of military justice and criminal law, claims, legal assistance, administrative and civil law, fiscal law, environmental law, and labor law. Plans and directs the overall legal support program to ensure accurate, effective, and timely legal support to the MCoE, tenant organizations, and the local retiree community. Serves as the Senior Ethics Counselor for Fort Benning.

Deputy Legal advisor to Commanding General of over 30,000 US Army forces and their 100,000 family members in Europe. Supervise and provide direct technical oversight to over 80 lawyers and paralegals supporting contingency operations and the full-spectrum of legal support requirements. Serve as the Land and Local Legal Liaison Authority for Germany and the Debarment Official for the US Army in Europe.

Deputy legal advisor to Commander and Staff of US Army Central. Provided international and operational law guidance, military justice, administrative law and government contract and fiscal law reviews in support of a $27 billion budget. Provide direct oversight, administrative support and technical supervision to a staff of 30 attorneys and paralegals in multiple countries across the middle-east and the United States.

Supervise 22 attorneys and 11 paralegals providing a full range of criminal defense services throughout the Southeast Region of the United States (Fort Bragg, NC; Fort Stewart, GA; Hunter Army Airfield, GA; Fort Gordon, GA; Fort Jackson, SC and Shaw Air Force Base, SC). Provide technical advice, policy guidance, and administrative support to personnel across the region. Ensure professional training and legal and leadership development of the counsel and support personnel. Personally represent senior office clients in courts-martial and sensitive administrative investigations.

Subject matter expert for Mission Command Training Program. Observes, coaches and trains units and leaders concerning national security law, doctrine, emerging tactics and best practices. Prepares unit legal teams to be flexible and responsive to battlefield commanders in an increasing complex legal environment. Shares information with the Center for Law and Military Operations and ensured the timely dissemination of information of the use of force, claims, and operational law issues for military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
