I was lucky to attend an exceptional State School, where I received a lot of inspirted teaching, mainly in English, History and Art, which has influenced me ever since.I left at fifteen, and my first job was as messenger girl for an Artists' Agent, and so I met many well-known artists of the day, including Ronald Searle. Then I was employed by Conde Nast in London, where I saw the famous models of that time - but unfortunately could not get into Editorial or Art Depts, which seemed to generally employ Society debutantes. So I learned Shorthand Typing I was a rotten touch typist, but it serves me well now.I've also been a barmaid (in all sorts of pubs, including very posh), saleswoman for Jaegar, hospital auxiliary, waitress (including the famous Hole in The Wall and Priory restaurants in Bath), picture frame seller and Artists' Model (for various colleges.)I've lived in London, Cheltenham, Bath, a Cotswold village, New Orleans, Cornwall and now Wirral, across the River Mersey from Liverpool. I love travelling, but have only been able to indulge my urge to be always 'over the next hill' since 2000.
