Built Spice brand from the ground up, transforming a basement start up into a $2.5M operation with a collection of companies to include a restaurant (Spice Kitchen + Bar), catering company (Spice Catering), sustainable farmland (Spice Acres) and a non-profit (Spice Field Kitchen). Led strategic publicity efforts to obtain local, regional and national coverage, including New York Times, Wall Street Journal, PBS, Food Network and CBS Sunday Morning. Wrote and produced all brand content across six channels. Devised marketing plans, social media procedures, and media response policies to streamline onboarding of new Marketing and Outreach Directors.

Served as Creative Director, first as an independent consultant to assist in agency brand development, then as a full-time employee to manage a team of writers and designers in both Akron, Ohio and New York, New York. Consulted clients within the fashion, beauty and retail segment on brand and content development and digital distribution strategies. Traveled across the country for various speaking engagements related to content strategy.

Led team of media, PR and interactive directors in developing marketing, media and content plans for a client roster that included healthcare, home improvement, consumer products, education, non-profit, and manufacturing segments. Developed corporate, campaign and ingredient brands, including positioning, standards and internal advocacy.Initiated ground-up program development for six-figure content initiatives, including social media engagement, app concept generation/execution, multi-platform content distribution, online reputation management and keyword inclusion.Mentored copy and art teams using a blend of proven and non-traditional management approaches.
