Environmental Sociologist, Independent Social Researcher, Water ProtectorJackie Fetter Llc Jan 2021 - PresentLongmont, Colorado, United StatesMy focus is on water protection, water equity, and water policy. Understanding the Role of an Environmental Sociologist in Water IssuesWater is life—it's not just a phrase but a reality that underscores every facet of our existence. Yet, the challenges surrounding water conservation, equity, and policy are more pressing than ever. This is where the role of an environmental sociologist becomes critical.Who We AreBy definition, environmental sociology is the study of the relationship between societies and their natural environment. Studying these interactions is important to determine environmental problems and find appropriate solutions. Environmental sociologists are specialists who study these interactions. We explore how cultural, political, and economic systems influence and are influenced by the natural world. My specific focus on water entails examining the societal impacts of water access, management, and conservation efforts. I also am working on a research topic of "citizens participation in water conservation or water politics" and it's essential to consider various factors that influence human behavior and participation in environmental issues. What I Do1. Water Conservation: I analyze human behaviors and practices that affect water consumption and advocate for sustainable practices. By understanding societal patterns, I propose strategies that encourage efficient water use and reduce wastage.2. Water Equity: Ensuring equitable access to water resources is a priority. I investigate disparities in water distribution and work toward policies that guarantee fair access to clean water for all communities, regardless of economic or social status.3. Water Policy: Policy-making is pivotal in managing water resources. I conduct research that informs citizens, governments, NGOs, and businesses about the social implications of water policies, helping to craft regulations that reflect the needs and rights of diverse communities.

Owner/OperatorHonest Floating Nov 2014 - 2019Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United StatesFloat tank therapy is a therapeutic approach to the growing stimulus of the world. Salt tank therapy service can help with relaxation, muscle service for athletes, and a wide variety of personal reflection.Logistically a float tank is approximately 4 feet by 8 feet and shaped like a box. It is filled with 10 inches of water and then 600 pounds of Epsom salt and 50 pounds of Dead Sea salt, which 50 pounds of Dead Sea salt converts to 100 pounds of Epsom salt . Some float centers use all Epsom salt, but by using part Dead Sea salt we can keep the water cleaner longer. This combination of water, quiet and serene provides a place that people are rarely able to access in their mind. The benefits of a float tank has a wide variety from athletic use due to the Epsom salts, introspection for those working on personal development, stress reductio due to the quiet or just a break from the everyday overload of sensory. Epsom salts contain magnesium and sulfates. These hold amazing healing properties for the body. Not to mention they really help a person relax.
