As the Enterprise Clinical Educator, I oversee numerous standardization projects to bring best practices forward and work towards enhancing the nursing profession. I have been pivotal in the collaboration of multiple sites for several years and in this new role, my focus is implementing key initiatives from initial start to completion. My role allows me to collaborate with clinical leaders, educators, CNOs while ensuring that the front line nurses are being supported in their professional growth. Most recently, I oversaw the standardization of nursing onboarding and specific skills and competencies across the enterprise. I worked closely with leaders and educators to ensure the most appropriate skills are being assigned and seamless onboarding experience is created for every nurse hired at CTCA. I also led an enterprise preceptorship, mentorship, and Advanced Nurse Practitioner onboarding programs.

In my role role as a Director of Professional Practice, I was an integral part of raising awareness to the importance of having a sound nursing professional practice and empowering nurses at every level.As the Director of Professional Practice, I had the opportunity to impact the nursing profession in a profound way. I was instrumental in developing and implementing a sustainable shared governance. I was the advisor for our Magnet steering committee and our professional development committee. I was the Magnet Program Director and worked with other MPDs across the enterprise. Under my leadership, the DAISY and BEE awards were implemented with incredible feedback from frontline staff. I thoroughly enjoyed watching front line nurses grow, take on initiatives they are passionate about and have an impact on their practice and profession. With my leadership skills, I assisted in increasing the number of BSN prepared or higher nurses from 44% to 74%. The number of certified nurses also increased from 8% to 61%. I was also the NDNQI site and survey coordinator and assisted in communication and understanding of how we compare across similar sites for nurse-sensitive indicators and expanded on the results of the nursing survey. I am knowledgeable of the Magnet 2019 manual. I was at the forefront for several accreditations, such as the National Accreditation for Breast Centers, Commission on Cancer and the Joint Commission Disease Specific Certification for Lung Cancer; all of which were brand new to the organization. I take on challenges with gusto and focus on collaboration and empowerment.
