About Jackie Hurt M.A., B.S., Cota/L, Roh

Jackie has worked in long term care facilities and acute rehab as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) beginning in 2002 and as an instructor in the Occupational Therapy Assistant program in a University setting beginning in 2006. As an active member in the state association for occupational therapy, WVOTA, she has served as secretary, conference chair and vice president and served as the first president to hold an associates degree in Occupational Therapy as an OTA. She was awarded the Elizabeth Devereaux Award of Excellence in Occupational Therapy by the state association in 2011 and the Legislative award for her participation on the legislative committee. She recently began volunteer work on a national level with the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). In 2023, Jackie was honored by AOTA with induction to the Roster of Honor (ROH) for her leadership as an Occupational Therapy practitioner.
