Jackie came into higher education following 10 years in the commercial financial sector and joined York St John University in 2001 as a specialist in Strategy and Finance contributing to all programmes within business management. Adding to her experience she is currently undertaking interim work within both the alternative provider higher education sector and public sector, developing and supporting student cohorts comprising international students from around the globe. Developing and working with partners in the UK and overseas has brought an additional dimension to her work at a strategic level.Jackie has extensive experience within international higher education and management of a diverse range of programmes and associated staff combined with long-term engagement with industry with emphasis on the individual experience. Jackie is passionate about personal and professional development for all nationally, regionally and internationally demonstrated by her membership of and engagement with the Institute of Directors, Higher Education Academy and Chartered Management Institute, Associate Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and work undertaken with the Association of Business Schools along with her directorship of York Professionals to broaden experiences. Jackie provides strategic direction and perspective for transnational higher education for alternative providers through high quality leadership and development of quality processes and supporting the design of market-aligned curriculum and leading in preparation for successful QAA HER. Much of Jackie’s work is focused around developing businesses and employability and among other things she has researched ways in which the individual experience can be enhanced through collaborative and peer learning and development of emotional intelligence.
