Project manager of the San Jacinto River Project. The project goal is to ensure proper remediation of the NPL Superfund Site, the San Jacinto River Waste Pits. I strive to educate and engage local communities, produce reliable scientific information to the public, and to gain the support of elected officials and other organization's. I work closely with the EPA, Harris County Attorney's Office and other elected officials. I organize and host press conferences that have been featured on Fox26, KPRC, Telemundo, Al Jazeera- America, NPR and Mi Casa Broadcasting. My interviews/press conferences have been published in Texas Monthly Magazine, Houston Chronicle, Houston Press, Texas Tribune, Baytown Sun and the Star Courier.

Undergraduate Research Assistant to Professor of Environmental Management for a summer project. Worked with a research team funded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Project assessed the constraints and facilitators of housing recovery and resilience in small coastal communities post-disaster. Collaborative study with DHS’s Coastal Hazard Center of Excellence at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Assisted in face-to-face interviews along the Gulf Coast and the Outer Banks of North Carolina with Emergency Managers, Mayors, small business owners and non-profit organizations. Attended FEMA's National Disaster Recovery Framework meeting at North Carolina's Emergency Management Center.Responsibilities:-Background research in preparation for interviews; brief team with findings-Participate in weekly conference calls with the team and the Coastal Hazard Center-Collect GIS data-Investigate federal and county grant data-Submit final report covering my experiences and provided data for final report submitted to DHS
