Managed the nonprofit's flagship 2.5 acre school garden in Brooklyn including chicken coop, high tunnel/hoophouse, greenhouse, composting and raised beds. Edible Schoolyard NYC is a national leader in edible education engaging thousands of public school students annually through hands-on cooking and gardening programs.

Texas Sprouts is a 6-year research project funded by the National Institutes of Health, led by UT Nutrition professor Dr. Jaimie Davis. The project evaluated the impact of community gardening, farm-to-table cooking and nutrition education interventions on low-income minority elementary schools in the Austin Metropolitan Area. As a class assistant and member of the student research team, I helped build school gardens, led cooking demonstrations and nutrition lessons, measured student metabolic changes via blood tests, and gathered dietary self-reports from families.

Provided research support to the award-winning author, filmmaker and academic during the multimedia documentary project "Generation Food", the book "A History of the World in Seven Cheap Things", and preparation of a policy brief on sugar-sweetened beverage taxation for Indian Parliament.

Learned basic lab skills, created transgenic lines, and studied the nervous system of the sea anemone Nematostella vectensis in the lab of Dr. Kausik Si in collaboration with Dr. Matt Gibson.
