As a hostess of a higher class establishment there were always high standards that needed to get met. We had a very important job as the first people you saw when you walked through the door. A smile and energetic attitude were always necessary. Our job however did not start and end with taking peoples names and seating them once a table was ready. We were also in charge of keeping the guests satisfied when waiting 2 plus hours for a table.
