Disability Action Yorkshire is a charity, based in Harrogate North Yorkshire, that provides services and solutions working with disabled people to enable them to achieve their aspirations.Our key areas of work are in personal care and support, training and employment. That's isn't all that we do and to find out more about what we do go to https://www.disabilityactionyorkshire.org.uk/There are around 12 million people disabled people in the UK, this means 1 in 5 of the population. Sadly it remains the case that disabled people still face challenges in their daily lives, principally in the areas of employment, social care and housing. We are determined to do what we can to change those inequalities.We are always developing the services we provide and over the next couple of years will be working particularly on housing and employment solutions.I am extremely fortunate to have job I enjoy. I have many years experience in working in the voluntary sector as well as health and social care and am able to apply the skills and knowledge I have gained to ensuring that Disability Action Yorkshire provides the best service possible.I believe that it is important to contribute to the local community and use my governance skills as Chair of Harrogate Town AFC Community Foundation and am also a member of the Harrogate & District Chamber of Commerce Management Team.
