Artist Educator Jackie WIldau developed The Wildau Method and went on to establish All In Play® as a means of providing professional development and teacher inspiration in early childhood centers. She honed her pedagogical approach to enlivening the social, cognitive and kinesthetic literacy of young children during a thirteen-year stint as a theatre specialist at Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School in New York City. A skilled practitioner of mime, magic, circus and performance art with a degree from Jacques LeCoq's renowned Movement Theater/Mime School in Paris, Jackie Wildau has long been adept at capturing and holding children’s attention. Her belief in the power of ensemble and collaboration stems from decades of experience producing and directing theater arts. Jackie has the demonstrated capacity to move fluently between stages that include inner-city classrooms, college auditoriums, fashion runways, and corporate America. In a 2 year collaboration with CUNY Professional Development Institute, Jackie forged a model that can be readily replicated in schools throughout the country and provide professional development training and further certification. Currently she is seeking partnerships within the educational domain to enrich the lives of as many young children as possible.

Experiential Learning through Dramatics, Movement, and PlayJackie Wildau will be teaching a new Allinplay™ course at the University of California Santa Cruz, Silicon Valley campus. January 27, 2020 - March 30, 2020We know that young children learn best when their minds and bodies are engaged. Integrating physical, cognitive and social-emotional learning through guided play is experiential learning at its best. In this class you will study a range of dramatic exercises, techniques, and strategies designed to encourage both new and seasoned teachers to engage more deeply with young learners. The goal of this course is to give participants tools to design play scenarios and subject studies that combine emergent and established methodologies of dramatics, movement, and play. You will explore tools that are foundational to emerging literacy, self-expression, basic cognition, and future academic achievement.You will apply methods rooted in developmental theory and aligned with science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics (STEAM) education principles. The approach includes the arts for a more holistic understanding of our world.This usable, adaptable, and effective approach to facilitating curriculum encourages children to tap into their greatest natural gift: their imagination. It offers them movement with purpose.
