I joined Crowe MacKay LLP in 2005 when Jones Richards & Company merged. I have worked in public practice accounting since 1981, becoming a senior partner of Jones, Richards & Company in 1990 and leading the firm's consulting practice. My preferred area of practice is in management consulting, including assisting clients in such areas as corporate finance, business acquisitions, operational, strategic, and succession planning and direction.I provide professional services to a wide range of clients, however, focus primarily on privately held businesses and their entrepreneurial shareholders. I assist clients from a wide cross-section of industries, helping to provide them with strategic direction, financial leadership, and an external perspective on their business. I have extensive experience in the areas of Aviation, Engineering, Construction, Real Estate Development, Wholesale Distribution, Manufacturing, Automotive Dealerships, and Contract Building Supplies. Professional Memberships and EducationI obtained a Diploma of Business Administration – Accounting Major (Honours) in 1981 from Calgary’s Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. I earned the Certified General Accountant (CGA) designation in 1983. I am a member of CPA British Columbia.Volunteer ActivitiesI have served as a member of the Board of Governors for the Certified General Accountants (CGA) of Alberta and as chair of its Public Practice Committee. I also am the author of a Sample Audit File that was commissioned by CGA Canada to be used as a guide on audit procedures and techniques for audit professionals across Canada.Extra-curricular ActivitiesI am an avid aviator. I hold a private pilot license and own a Piper Warrior aircraft that I fly out of the Pitt Meadows airport
