I've been a writer and editor since before I knew what that meant, and have been able to hone those skills in a variety of ways over the years. One of the things I have always taken pride in is my ability to edit people's work quickly and with a great deal of accuracy. When I worked for the Barre Granite Museum in Vermont, I fell in love with copy writing. I was skilled at creating captions for the exhibits which could convey rather dry pieces of information in a succinct and captivating way. The rule I made for myself was that each blurb needed to be simple enough for a six year old and interesting enough for his parents.
