Operations Engineer
Maintaining the Esendex estate of desktops, laptops, mobile devices, servers, hardware and software whilst pro-actively taking responsibility for upgrades. Providing support to users both remotely and at desk-side. I establish system specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements. Other responsibilities include:- Maintaining system performance by performing system monitoring and analysis, and troubleshooting system hardware, software, and operating and system management systems; escalating application problems to vendors.- Managing all users within the organization using Active Directory and GPO- Monitoring ticket queues and reacting to live end user issues- Assisting with the inventory management of software licenses, software, hardware, and other IT supplies.- Procurement of software, hardware and other IT supplies- Maintaining our ISO certificationAs an Internal Operations Engineer I act as a key member of the team working alongside the Development teams: working to maintain and improve Continuous Integration and Delivery processes, and the hardware platforms Esendex solutions run on.Within a highly collaborative and continuously improving team I help to deliver fabulous solutions that we are proud to say “I built that”. We’ve embraced practices such as Test Driven Development and Automated Acceptance Testing, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and Automated Deployment; and with our mandate of continuous improvement we typically:- Each attend at least one conference a year- Run regular dojos, technical presentations and guided learning sessions- Dedicate time for research, innovation and learning- Regularly focus on improvement in team retrospectivesAs an Operations team we’re striving to be the best we possibly can.
