It is a comprehensive 6 to 7 month program consisting of: Application/Orientation, Boot Camp, Lean LaunchPad, Startup +, and Launch in cooperation with the Innovation Hub at Broward College.It is an opportunity to immerse yourself in a real-world experience that offers a greater prospect for success in bringing your idea to fruition.

Worked to efficiently and effectively execute the Startup Quest Entrepreneurial Program goals and objectives. In a first of its kind for Broward County this successful initiative pared possible Angel investors and Venture Capitalists with teams of 8 to 12 members each. The program is based on intensive training sessions led by mentors with knowledge about technologies, emerging industries, entrepreneurship, market analysis, financial projections, management and technology development.Participants are given a “Shark Tank” type of exposure at the end of a Ten Week process with IT, Health Sciences and Bio-Tech. The teams are then judged on Appearance, Feasibility and Marketability.

Responsible for all DCF programs in Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Staff of over 1300 and a budget of $300 million. Program operations included oversight of child welfare with as many as 4,000 children in foster care, operations of Adult Abuse and Exploitation, Mental Health and Substance Abuse, Food Stamp and Medicaid eligibility for 250,000 individuals. Reported to Assistant Secretary in Tallahassee.

Startup travel agency grew to largest in Broward County and fifth largest in Florida of some 5,000 travel agencies. I served on the advisory boards of Carlson Wagonlit Travel franchise board, the international travel advisory board of Pan American Airways, and was one of five travel industry representatives on the advisory board to the president of Continental Airlines. During this period, I also served on the Marketing Committee of the Broward County Tourist Council.
