I treat patients with various brain, spine or nerve conditions through surgery and manage them perioperatively.As a clinician-scientist I also work on translational and clinical applications of various neural interfaces to restore damage neurological functions. I was awarded the NMRC Research Training Fellowship and spent a year at USC Keck's to pursue BCI and Neurorestoration research, and work with collaborators to set up a Neurorestoration Centre in Singapore to bring together scientists, engineers and medical professionals / surgeons to work on developing technologies to restore neurological functions.I am the recipient of various awards during my residency, including:SingHealth Publish! I work as a clinician scientist / clinician innovator involved in neurotechnology, brain-machine interface, neuroprothesis and neurorestoration technology.I work on translational and clinical applications of invasive and non-invasive brain-computer interface that allows recording of brain signals and transformation of these signals to for instance move a prosthetic limb or stimulate the patient's own muscles. This allows restoration of previously paralysed body parts.
