Start-up non-profit working to end unsheltered street homelessness. First development and communications person tasked with creating fundraising and communications operation from the ground up. Fundraising, marketing strategy, policies, CRM, website, procedures and team development.Accomplishments- First year raised $30 million ($5 million in philanthropy, $25 million Home Key Grants) to fund 4 communities that will house nearly 200 unsheltered people. Second year led a $19,000,000 Capital Campaign to house an additional 300 individuals in Santa Barbara County.

Responsible for agency wide fundraising, communications and community outreach. Member of the senior leadership team determining strategic goals and planning. Public relations officer.Accomplishments- Increased overall funding and constituent housing services. Added housing funding streams for at risk senior citizens. Fiscal year funding for 2021 will be $12,000,000, an increase of nearly $6,000,00 from 2015. Overhauled all digital properties- website, social media and email and trained a new team of five from the ground up.

Programs- Responsible for entire slate of the Equality California Institute programming-Supervision of existing programs as well as the development, funding and implementation of new programs and well as marketing and communications campaigns to support program expansion.Development- Responsible for overall fundraising operation of the organization- Special Events, Major Gifts, Corporate Sponsorships and Grants- Federal, State and Foundations.Accomplishments- Programs:• Created and secured funding for the Equality California Institute signature program, “Health Happens With Equality”- a statewide media outreach and education campaign designed to promote the Affordable Care Act to the LGBT community- funded by the California Endowment and recognized by the White House for its’ impact. • Created and secured federal funding for “Protect, Detect, Report”, a program designed to prevent LGBT seniors from becoming victims of Medicare Fraud. • Continued successful completion of research and implementation of California Department of Mental Health funded “Reducing Disparities Report” which examined the challenges members of the LGBT community encounter when trying to access mental health services at the county level.Accomplishments- Development:• Created and executed a successful plan for five annual major fundraising events in San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Sacramento and Palm Springs. Total revenue from these events is well in excess of $4,000,000 per year.• Created and implemented a major gifts program that now includes individual donor outreach and long-term strategic stewardship initiatives.• Responsible for successful communications plan to promote events and work directly with board members to support their outreach work.

Gatekeeper was established to create documentary films, media advocacy policy campaigns and educational programs addressing and promoting the issues of human and civil rights and social and economic justice, focusing in particular on the fair and appropriate treatment of undocumented immigrants.
