Management and development of a complex code base. Extensively used the R programming language for data analysis, statistical analysis, and data visualisation. Contribution to an internally hosted (Git/GitHub) R package for data analysis. Habitually source-controlled R projects using Git. Designed and set up the company fibre records system, and the data pipeline to interact with it. Used company-wide to visualise the fibre networks. Allows educated decisions to be made. Worked tightly with other departments and stakeholders to develop the system to their requirements. Use of graph theory for network interrogation. Constructed many advanced dashboards for interactive data visualisation using Power BI and Shiny R. This includes the company’s KPI dashboard. Heavily supported the Development team with the introduction of a new system. Wrote a detailed report about where the system was making mistakes and errors due to migration from the previous system. Built plenty of Shiny apps to help various areas of the business automate their work processes. Involved curating data from numerous different sources (APIs, Excel files, SQL databases, etc.). Automated distribution of results.

At SLE, I worked on a project developing bendable OLED screens. Throughout this I planned experiments and carefully analysed the results to determine what the next steps of the project would be.Presented in company-wide meetings where I would show and discuss the work I had done, explaining why it was important, and answering any questions my colleagues would have about my work. Such discussions would then inspire new ideas on where to take the projectCarefully planned what I wanted to get done on a day-by-day basis and managed my time effectively to make sure I met my goals, prioritising those that needed to be done sooner over those that were less urgent.Helped colleagues that were working on other projects, strengthening my work relationships and furthering my understanding of their work.After the professional placement, my supervisor stated in my placement report that I was performing research at the level of a PhD student, and that I had made many important contributions to the project.
